Talismanic temple hanging.
Cotton cloth and cording, pigments.
34 in. X 35 in.
Good, some staining as well as fading and wear of pigments.
A single piece of cotton hemmed along the 4 edges and twisted cotton cording attached to each corner for hanging. This piece is wonderfully executed with detail drawings and paintings. Talismanic “ingwets” mark each corner. There are 2 places inside the small squares on the lower corners where white pigments cover the original marking either to make corrections or updates to what appear to be numbers.
