Fair, lacquer covering missing in areas.
Basket such as these are used in ceremonies and are filled with offering of food, flower, money and textiles. Bamboo base with layers of black lacquer, decorated with tarnished gold pigments in a floral pattern on the sides and lid. Inside dyed with bright orange pigments. This basket is very old and rare.
