Women’s Embroidered Applique. Dong or Kam People China

The Dong people of China make very colorful costumes for their New Year festival as well as other events throughout the year. Appliques like this one take days if not weeks to make and are just one of many both women and men must have. Wonderfully embroidered with cotton, silk and tiny copper sequins on homespun cotton with indigo dye. A small treasure.
