Tibetan Personal Amulet Pendant Box

Boxes like these are used both by the Bhutanese and the Tibetans are called gaus. They are worn around the neck and would contain small scared objects including Buddha images and prayers. Beautiful reposee work decorates the silver front with a coral bead set in the center. It has a lovely patina from years of handling and use.

Good. The silver loops that a strap passes through has been worn down from use as well. Backside has a crack with native repair. Small pin holes due to wear.

Boxes like these are worn both by Tibetans and Bhutanese. They are worn around the neck and would contain small scared objects including Buddha images and prayers. The silver front slides over the copper back and is secured by a leather strap. Beautiful reposee work decorates the silver front with a coral bead set in the center. The leather tab is in place at the top but is missing at the bottom. It has a lovely patina from years of handling and use.
