JASTB/003 Tibetan/Bhutanese Tibet/Bhutan Charm box that carries religious images or prayers, gau Coin silver, copper and turquoise. 2.50 inches across X 3 inches top to bottom X 1.5 inches from back to front. Good. The silver front has 2 small holes due to wear as well as a small dent. The back as a dent.Boxes like these are used both by the Bhutanese and the Tibetans. They are worn around the neck and would contain small scared objects including Buddha images and prayers. Made of a silver front that slides into the copper back and secured with a leather strap. Beautiful reposee work decorates the silver front with a turquoise bead set in the center. It has a lovely patina from years of handling and use. Seems to be of considerable age.
