Traditional costume of the Black Hat sect made of purple, blue, red and gold silk brocade accented with auspicious Buddhist and Chinese symbols. The garment cinched on the sides to produce a distinctive shape and with long, striped, bell-shaped sleeves terminating in silk tassels. The supplementary border depicts the five clawed dragon of the highest rank, the silk "cloud" collar attached separately. Circa 19th century.
